SandBridge Day Four

Hello All,

I skipped the blog entry for a few days but am back at it now.

Unfortunately, rainy weather was bestowed upon us Monday and Tuesday. Monday was pretty much a wash out considering we really didnt do too much worth mentioning. Tuesday, as you may have seen on FaceBook, we visited the Virginia Beach Aquarium. We were about a quarter of the way through before our venture was interupted by a fire alarm and we were rushed out the nearest fire exit. After about a half hour or so we were able to make it back in and continue our visit.

Now then, I am pretty sure this will be the last post I make. The internet connection here is just about the worst I have ever seen and this site doesn't make it much better. I will update facebook from my phone when I have a chance.

Captains Log!

Sandbridge Beach here we are.

Our trip down was pretty uneventful although it did take considerably longer than anticiapted with two kids under the age of 5, one being only 5 months old. Both of our little guys were on their best behavior, no issues at all. Thankfully!

After our lengthy and tiresome travels southbound , we sit here on our first morning enjoying the sounds of the ocean while sipping a cup of piping hot coffee. It is very rejuvenating to kick back with nowhere to go.

The condo is wonderful! Everything is well kept and furnished appropriately. It is laid out and decorated in a very inviting fashion. The kitchen is very well equiped and we cant wait to visit the local fish market for a seafood feast!

The plans for the week are pretty much undetermined at this point but we are sure to find some local attractions to visit and we saw a few local restaurants on our way in that we would like to check out.

Well, all for now. I will try to keep the blog updated regularly and get some great pics of the boys on thier first beach trip!

The First Gilpin Family Blog

Hello all,

Today I am starting the 1st Gilpin Family Blog. I have never written a blog before, so here goes.

My original intention for this blog was to capture the daily undertakings of our vacation this summer. This will be our first week long vacation in quite a while. Although we do take the boat out regularly throughout the summer months, we still have not had an extended vacation, so now were going to change that.

This year, May 15 - May 22 we will be taking off on an adventure to Sandbridge Beach, Virginia. Sandbridge is often referred to as the northern most Outer Banks due to is fantastic landscapes, sea scapes and seclusion. We have never been there before so we will embark on our journey sight unseen. . . . . . (Except for the pic on the internet of course!)

Joining us on our trip will be my mom and Grandpa Joe'. We are all looking forward to a little R&R and week long spell of "Mikieisms". The saying goes "Don't kids just say the darndest things", but in our family we have "Mikieisms", we are sure to be entertained with his witty antics for sure.

So, with 11 days to go, the countdown begins, although Donna has been unofficially counting down since the day we booked the condo. Sandbridge Beach, here we come!
